For the Love of BooksApril 29, 2013
We had such a great time last week sharing books with the city of Birmingham through Bookstravaganza. Here are a few highlights shared with us by some of the contest winners. Want to share your picture or story from the Scavenger Hunt? Send us an email at email@example.com. Thanks again to all our World Book Night givers, Scavenger Hunters, bloggers and journalists who promoted the event, and customers and readers who made the week a success!
Little Rhodes Chancey (and, well, his parents, Caleb and Laura) was our first Scavenger Hunt winner with a copy of Jesus Land from the Shindigs Truck!
One of our favorite customers, Marty, won a copy of Papillon from one of our favorite restaurants, El Barrio.
Lots of us participated in World Book Night, giving away free books all over the city. Janie gave copies of Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens at Slice.
Carly Downey shared a picture of her sweet baby and her free copy of Moneyball.
Sri, Michelle and Carrie gave away free World Book Night books at Mafiaoza’s.
Lots of customers snagged sale copies of some of the season’s best books in our Scavenger Hunt Sale.
Carrie loves being on TV! (Actually she hates it. But you take one for the team, right?)
We had a fantastic discussion with Jenny Milchman at our author event.
The Birmingham Museum of Art even donated a book to our Scavenger Hunt!
Another favorite customer, Carla Jean, sent us a picture of The Storyteller, the book she won from Charm … where she also bought a pair of earrings and cute sunglasses.
