Susan helps businesses with performance management and achieving common goals, so we thought she would be the perfect guest to talk about working remotely. Susan and Carrie dive in with some of the challenges presented by working remotely, and discuss how to adapt methods of measuring productivity. Susan gives great ideas for running meetings remotely, and Carrie points out a common blind spot that leads to inefficiency. Susan and Carrie talk about how managers can reach out and the importance of checking in with people. They then discuss reprimanding employees, how to work with parents who are juggling raising kids and working full time, and how to encourage people. Susan and Carrie wrap up with layoffs and furloughs, and the dos and don’ts of handling a tough situation made even tougher by quarantine.
