We’re celebrating our successful first children’s event, Pirates on the Porch! Every Saturday morning for the rest of this month, the Dread Pirate Beaumont will show up at Church Street and read to kids who will also get Pirate Booty to snack on and pirate rings and doubloons to play with! Our first Pirates on the Porch event was popular with kids, who sat enraptured as the pirate read stories (they were miraculously still and quiet), and parents, who had a great time watching their kids enjoy the morning.
This past weekend, we were also happy to have Tamara and Jamison Harper come by and share their Bird Alphabet book. All the birds inside were hand-drawn by Jamison, and the book has some really great, interesting facts that the kids loved. We’re carrying the Bird Alphabet book at Church Street, so stop by this week and take a look!
And be sure not to miss Pirates on the Porch this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. You can even make a day of it, with our storytime first, then Emmet O’Neal’s storytime at 10:30, then an early lunch at Crestline Bagel!
